OOTD 03282012

what i'm wearing: top from cotton on, blazer from a boutique, necklace and skirt from forever 21, flats from maud frizon

Wore this outfit to my art exhibition opening and dinner. I wore flats instead of heels as I needed to be standing for a longer period of time. I'm also in love with the skirt as I can create so many different outfits with it and the colours and patterns are perfect!

Grey/Silver Eyeshadow

I bought MAC's eyeshadow in Electra, which is a silver with icy shimmers, around a year ago and every time I look at it I kind of just asked myself, "Why did I even buy this?!" Not that it's an ugly colour or anything, but it was not something I could use everyday and I really didn't know what to do with it... But this was until this spring, silver can be seen all over the runways and magazines!

As you can see, it works for a range of different skin tones which is always a plus, so do not be afraid to start using your grey/silver eyeshadow.

MAC Tendertons

I never knew about MAC Tendertones until recently when they were re-promoted in the Cook MAC collection. During my previous visit to MAC, I nearly bought it in the colour Hush, Hush but decided not to right before I paid.

They do smell very fruity and seems to be quite moisturizing, but I'm personally not a huge fan of potted lip products (hygienic reasons) and weirdly, I already have too much... Anyways, here is a picture of what they look like:

It is likely that they would be sold out in your MAC, but they are still available in most of my MAC stores so... possible giveaway? ;)

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - Review & Swatches

I first heard about the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter through beauty gurus on Youtube. They were launched in Hong Kong about 2-3 months ago, so I went ahead and bought 4 of them.

I would say that the packaging is quite nice for a drug store product and the colour payoff is also amazing for a lip butter. However the name "lip butter" may be misleading as they are definitely not as moisturizing, so you may have to apply an actual lip balm before this if your lips are super dry.

095 Creme Brulee, 025 Peach Parfait, 001 Pink Truffle, 040 Red Velvet

Please excuse the colour stain on the tubes, I have been using them for a while now!

Creme Brulee and Peach Parfait has a sheer finish to it. Peach Parfait also has gold glitter in it which is quite pretty when you first apply it, but once the colour wears off, you'll be left with sparkles on your lips which isn't exactly attractive! Pink Truffle and Red Velvet on the other hand is a lot more pigmented.

Natural lighting, indoor light, flash

What do you think about this product? Have you tried it yet? If not would you consider purchasing it?
Let me know in the comments below! :)

P.S.
See the Invisible Children, stop KONY.

Sparkling in the blue

I actually wanted my nails to be navy blue, but "No Limits" is the only dark blue that I have. It looks like super dark purple in the bottle, dark dark blue with just one layer and black blue after a second layer. I wanted to lighten it up without redoing my nails, so I rediscovered the nails inc. polish that I got from my cousin. It has small blue, silver and a hint of gold glitters in it which makes it so pretty, but getting this off would be torture though...!

OPI - Natural Nail Base Coat
NICOLE by OPI - No Limits
NAILS INC. - Goodge Street
OPI - Top Coat

I've been asked if the quality of the Nicole by OPI are equally as good as the OPI polishes. To me, there isn't a huge difference, especially with the darker colours. However, OPI polishes are sold for 100-140HKD, whereas Nicole by OPI polishes are sold for just 75HKD!

The colour on my thumb looks lighter and less glittery because I applied a layer of sheer white between the "No Limits" and glitter polish when I was experimenting...
